Vassiliko Cement Works participation in the Quality Conference 2019 on Cyprus Quality Association
On Thursday, November 14th, the Quality Conference 2019 was held; a representative of Vassiliko Cement Works was one of the speakers.
The Industrial Health & Safety Manager of Vassiliko Cement Works, Maria Evdokimou presented the Company’s Health & Safety System, focusing on the significance of developing a safety culture at the workplace. In addition, emphasis was placed on the integrated management system of older employees; the Company was granted for this system in 2016 the 1st Best Practices Award on Health & Safety at the Work Place entitled ‘Elaboration of an integrated management system for ageing employees, taking organizational, educational and technical measures'. The award was granted by the Ministry of Labour at the Best Practices Awards organized by the Labour Inspectorate Department. For the same best practice, the Company was granted in 2017 an Honorary Distinction in Malta from the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work.
The need to continue reforms across the spectrum of economy and society was the main message conveyed by the speakers at the Quality Conference with the participation of the President of the House of Representatives, Mr. Demetris Syllouris and the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Mr. George L. Savvides, with the Director General of Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB) as Coordinator, Mr. Michael Antoniou.
Vassiliko Cement Works actively participates in such Conferences in order to communicate its know-how and multi-annual experience, adjusting at the same time its operations to Cyprus reform requirements.
